Biofuture helped the owners of New Ground café in Newhall, Harlow, to revolutionise the sustainable offering of the award-winning business. New Ground switched to using Biofuture compostable paper cups and lids, straws, kraft takeaway boxes and bags, cutlery and napkins to replace plastic packaging and lower the carbon emissions of the café.
Plastic pollution is one of the great environmental challenges of the 21st century. The natural composition of the Biofuture range of certified compostable food and drink packaging that contributes towards the circular economy.
Tracy, the owner of New Ground, is pleased with the impact of the products from Biofuture:
“I cannot speak highly enough of Biofuture - their exceptional service from beginning to end has truly impressed me. What sets them apart is their exclusive focus on offering compostable products, which directly contributes to tackling the persistent issue of plastic waste pollution. This dedication to sustainability aligns perfectly with our goals and has notably aided in addressing the pressing environmental challenges we face today.”

Oscar Smith, managing director of Biofuture, is happy with the adoption of Biofuture products:
“I visited Tracey and David last year and was struck by their commitment to sustainability. New Ground has transitioned almost all their food service packaging to compostable materials. This move reduces their carbon footprint and also has a positive impact on the environment.
“Our solution to the plastic crisis is the certified compostable and biodegradable food packaging that is designed to eliminate plastic waste. Our innovative packaging products provide the same level of convenience and functionality as traditional packaging but are made from sustainable materials that are free from microplastics and break down naturally.
“Our 100% compostable and eco-friendly packaging alternatives are designed to free the planet from the damaging consequences of traditional plastic. Our customers want to make a lasting and positive difference for the planet, and by using renewable materials, we can reframe waste as a resource, instead of pollution,” said Oscar.
This shift towards reusing materials is an essential part of realising climate neutrality, according to Hasso von Pogrell, managing director of European Bioplastics (EUBP), who stated:
‘Biobased plastics will play a pivotal role in reducing reliance on fossil-based materials while cutting greenhouse gas emissions over their lifecycle by utilising carbon absorbed during plant growth… Biobased plastics can be seamlessly integrated into existing recycling streams, supporting the development of a circular economy for packaging.’
Biofuture aims to be at the front of this movement towards responsible consumption, providing customers with strong and sustainable products to help maintain the planet for future generations.
